APAR status

Error description

• DB2 ADMINISTRATION FOR Z/OS. HPU UNLOAD ENDED W/ RC=303 or
  RC=292 and data loss. Problem occurs when moving a table
  from one tablespace to another tablespace.
  

Local fix

• "If using ALC to alter a table in a partitioned table space,
  specify NO for the "Add to work stmt list" field on panel ADB27A
  "DB2 Admin ALTER" if you want to use HPU for the "Unload Method"
  field on panel ADB27A "DB2 Admin ALTER"."
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for     *
  *                 z/OS who have partitioned clone tables       *
  *                 will encounter this problem when generating  *
  *                 REORGs through Work Statement Lists          *
  *                 (WSL). Users of HPU who are changing         *
  *                 partitioned tables.                          *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ADBPART table cannot contain            *
  *                      enough data to retain information       *
  *                      for both base table and its clone       *
  *                      table. The table is changed to add      *
  *                      the table schema and table name,        *
  *                      and the queries and process             *
  *                      changed accordingly. Data is not loaded *
  *                      back into the changed partitioned       *
  *                      table correctly and data loss for the   *
  *                      last column in the table will occur.    *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Error of RC=303 occurs in DB2B step of job showing that the
  number of partitions has changed which is not correct. Messages
  ADBT800I and ADB5003E are shown followed by the 303 error. For
  the data loss condition the last column loaded is empty. There
  are no error messages accompanying the data loss.
  

Problem conclusion

• Updated the checkpoint data base table ABDPART and installed
  code changes to avoid this problem. Resolution to the data loss
  is to echo the column information in the load cards for each
  partition instead of only once as it does prior to this fix.
