PROBLEM CONCLUSION: When the Snapshot History monitoring task starts up, it first reads control information for the stored data from the data set. The control information is checked for consistency. When the check is passed, the data set is read and Snapshot History monitoring continues. When the check fails, the current data set is saved and a new Snapshot History data set is allocated to continue Snapshot History monitoring. The code has been changed to better synchronize the control information and snapshot data when they are stored to the data set under exceptional conditions, as for example temporary I/O problems.
