  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS GEN command does not
create any DDL for an implicit index resulting in an empty
output dataset nor does it issue any messages to explain the
situation.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Administration Tool's DDL       *
*                      command does not create any DDL for an  *
*                      implicit index resulting in an empty    *
*                      output data set, nor does it issue any  *
*                      messages to explain the situation.      *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

The "DDL" line command on an index resulted in an empty file
being displayed.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The program has been modified to display the SYSPRINT data set
that will contain any messages that describe why the DDL for
the object was not generated.  A new message "DDL generation is
not supported for implicit index" will display on panel ADB21X.
