Problem summary
When the target of a call statement is coded as a string literal, and this literal matches the name of a top level function (in this case, it was the same name as the function that contained the call statement), the IR was built incorrectly. This caused the error at generation time.
Problem conclusion
I have corrected the problem. You will need to force the program that is getting the error to recompile in order to fix the erroneous .IR file. I would suggest doing a clean build of the entire workspace, if possible.
Temporary fix
