  • Views missing tbowner in the FROM clause and using MASK to
    alter the OWNER field causes ADB1847E WARNING : Error parsing
    DDL VIEW or TABLE statement.
    

Local fix

  • Users who have SYSADM authority will not see the issue.
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for     *
    *                 z/OS who use the GEN or DDL line commands    *
    *                 with an ID that does not have SYSADM         *
    *                 authority.                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: One of the internal programs that       *
    *                      queries DB2 attempts to change the      *
    *                      CURRENT SQLID of the process to an ID   *
    *                      that DB2 does not allow for non-SYSADM  *
    *                      users. Since the SQLID cannot be        *
    *                      changed, the required information from  *
    *                      DB2 is not retrieved and the Admin      *
    *                      parser is not able to complete.  This   *
    *                      results in the parser error:            *
    *                                                              *
    *                      ADB1847E WARNING : Error parsing DDL    *
    *                      VIEW or TABLE statement.                *

    The following parser error was received when using the GEN or
    DDL command:
    
    ADB1847E WARNING : Error parsing DDL VIEW or TABLE statement.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The program has been changed such that a SET CURRENT SQLID is
    no longer done for DB2 R810 new function mode and later.  The
    reported problem is only fixed for DB2 R810 new function mode
    and later since the required DB2 features are not available on
    DB2 R710.
