Error description
When CEDX AAAA is entered the user transaction AAAA is using the tranclass(DFHEDFTC). We can see it with CEMT I Transaction(AAAA) . If we disconnect from your terminal and reconnect the transaction is still with the TRANCLASS(DFHEDFTC). If you shutdown CICS and restart it in emergency the transaction AAAA is always with the TRANCLASS(DFHEDFTC). The problem is that this TRANCLASS have a MAXACTIVE=10 and it can be a bottleneck if this transaction is a lot use and the customer does not know that the transaction stays with the TRANCLASS DFHEDFTC.
Local fix
To change the TRANCLASS DFHEDFTC with the initial TRANCLASS
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A transaction with CEDX active may * * retain DFHEDFTC tranclass. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 'CEDX TRA1' entered on a CICS session will drive DFHEDFP and it will assign a temporary TRANCLASS of DFHEDFTC to TRA1. Usually the user would then invoke the transaction under CEDX and at task end would then have the choice of continue or discontinue running TRA1 under CEDX. If the latter is chosen then DFHEDFP will restore the original TRANCLASS value. However, if TRA1 is not run under CEDX (for example, CICS is SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE then emergency restarted) then the temporary TRANCLASS of DFHEDFTC assigned to TRA1 is restored from the catalog. TRA1 will now have a TRANCLASS of DFHEDFTC which has a MAXLIMIT of 10 specified. This can lead to unexpected throttling.
Problem conclusion
DFHXMXD has been modified so that any transaction that has been activated to run under CEDX will not have the temporary TRANCLASS of DFHEDFTC cataloged. This will ensure DFHEDFTC is not restored as the TRANCLASS over an emergency restart.
