Error description

  • This APAR will address the following:
    - The HPSR3634E is caused because the PSE name is found neither
      in the DBD nor in the RECON, and the high key is used for the
      partition selection. The same as other utilities, HP Load
      takes the PSE name from the RECON if the PSNAME is not defined
      to the DBD. However, HP Load under ORF cannot take the PSE
      name from the RECON which is initialized by ORF, because the
      PSE name is not defined to the RECON. If ORF is modified to
      take the PARTSEL definitions from the original RECON to its
      own RECON, HP Load will be able to take the PSE name and the
      HPSR3634E problem will be resolved.
    - HRFBMP samplib member will be changed to add HRFOARC0, define
      the must and optional steps.
    - HRFFOI samplib member will be changed to reflect generic
      exits.
    - HRFINST samplib member has been changed to reflect generic
      exits and BMP pauser.

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Online Reorg V1.2 *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ORF did not detect partition *
    *                      selection exit.                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Partition selection exit was defined via INIT.DB.
    However, the DBD did not specify selection exit. When
    copying the HALDB definition to the temporary RECON, the
    partition selection exit was nowhere specified.
    Also, Installing ORF, SAMPLIB members not correct.
    User manual too old and misleading.

Problem conclusion

  • Partition selection exit is now specified on INIT.DB
    command, even when specified in DBD.
    The ORF user manual will be ready in December. A
    pre copy is available upon request. We changed several
      SAMPLIB members
       - support for generic exits.
       - ORF BMP pause support.
       - Sample SMS constructs in HRFSETOP.
