Error description
Rational Application Developer 7.5.2/7.5.3/7.5.4 An ecore diagram created will now display the icons for EClass/E Package... in the floating palette This is not a problem using eclipse 3.4.2 with GMF Framework SDK 2.1.3 Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a simple project File-?New Project-?Simple Project 2. Create a new ecore diagram - File -? New -? Other-? Other -? New ecore diagram 3. Open the diagram and click on the surface to have the floatin g palette appear. Result: The icons for creation of the object are not visible. The tooltip is visible but not the icons.

Problem conclusion
Added a policy to prevent the extensions from loading for non web diagram editors. This will prevent the icon provider from providing null icons for non web diagram files. Fixed in Rational Application Developer V7.5.5
