PK96532: DB2 CANNOT BE STOPPED NORMALLY DUE TO THE DATA STUDIO TASK BEING RUNNING

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DB2 cannot be stopped normally because the data studiotasks
  were running which had a lock preventing DB2 from coming down.
  .
  Shutting down data studio tasks, then DB2 can come down.
  Or issuing STOP DB2 MODE(FORCE) to cancel the threads for DB2 to
  come down.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The DB2 Messages Support task (handling  IFCID197), that is
  called when the Data Studio subtask is running, didn't
  subscribe to the DB2 stop ECB to handle DB2 termination
  requests.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  When the thread of the Data Studio subtask connects to the DB2
  subsystem, it passes a DB2 stop ECB and takes the appropriate
  action when this ECB gets posted by the terminating DB2
  subsystem
