PK92398: DSNURCON -RECORD DISCARDED DUE TO 'LOG_RBA' CONVERSION ERROR FOR BMIADM.DB2PM_STAT_GENERAL ERR CODE '11 -CHAR FIELD TOO LONG

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Creating DB2 PE Performance Warehouse Performance Data Base
  TABLEs (DDL in RKO2SAM) in a Tablespace with ENCODING SCHEME
  UNICODE can cause the following message during the LOAD
  of the data:
  DSNURCON - RECORD (1) WILL BE DISCARDED DUE TO 'field name'
  CONVERSION ERROR FOR BMIADM.DB2PM_STAT_GENERAL
  ERROR CODE '11 - INPUT CHAR FIELD IS TOO LONG'
  The "field name" can be any CHAR() field with binary data in it
  (like LOG RBA).
  For this particular version of the problem, the following values
  for the Tablespace are:
  Encoding Scheme: U
  SBCS CCSID       367
  DBCS CCSID      1200
  MIXED CCSID     1208
  The 2 columns we've had problems with (HWM_STOR_TIME and
  LOG_RBA - part of the definition found in RKO2SAMP(DGOSCGEN))
  caused a CCSID conversion from CCSID 37 (default
  for the LOAD) to CCSID 1208 (specified for the Tablespace).
  

Local fix

• 2 workarounds possible:
  1) Change the definition of all CHAR() fileds to add "FOR BIT
  DATA"
  2) in the DSNUTILB LOAD, specify CHAR MIXED for the input field
  on the LOAD statement.
