Error description

  • The problems with actions and responses could lead to the
    following symptoms:
    1. A window containing 'An unhandled application error has
occurred' may appear in the client (this is a very general
symptom that could have other causes, but one of the causes is
problems in the actions and responses and their affect on the
    alert browser).

    2. Alert messages remain displayed in the alter browser after
"Select all" and "Clear" actions have been performed and
    confirmed.

    3. After CAE server and client have been recycled, some options
in the Alert Browser such as "Clear" or "Aknowledge" are grayed
    out and disabled.

    4. Automatic Cancel Thread actions fail with "No Agent for
    Action" message.

    5. Manual Cancel Thread actions fail.

    6. For customers that ran the CAE Server under USS in
CQM 2.2, there was no migration of CAE configurations
from the CQM 2.2 install directories into the new
    install directories

Local fix

  • If you are running the CAE Server under USS, the following
workaround should address symptoms 1, 2, and 3 (but no others).
For the others there is no known solution other than to apply
    PK86332.

Here is the workaround for symptoms 1, 2, and 3:

Manually alter the file names in directories

    /usr/lpp/cqmv2r3/knowledge/site/qm/actions and
    /usr/lpp/cqmv2r3/knowledge/site/qm/responses
If these directories contain files with a plus in the name e.g,
in actions you might see somthing like:

    CPU+time+e-mail.xml

    Perform these steps:

    1. Stop the CAE Server

    2. In ishell, change all the plus signs to spaces for all the
    files in "actions" and 'responses"

    3. restart the CAE Server
