Error description

  • AN INTERVAL TABLE (ThREAD ELEMENTS) HELD IN STORAGE CAUSING
    CONSUMPTION OF EXTRA CPU CYCLES

There is an internal table (Thread Elements) held in storage
that is growing larger than it should and since that table will
be iterated on a lot during processing it can cause consumption
    of extra CPU cycles.

Local fix

  • Having smaller subintervals?

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Historical collector storage buildup *
    * and processing overhead due to this. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this PTF *
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
A large amount of storage is allocated to maintaining
thread-related statistics and accounting data on a large system.

    PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
Add internal code to monitor and clean these data structures
periodically. The code will dynamically adjust the cleanup
cycle depending on the amount of storage currently in use.

Problem conclusion

  • Add internal code to monitor and clean these data structures
periodically. The code will dynamically adjust the cleanup
cycle depending on the amount of storage currently in use.
