PK81568: STARTRMISERVER.SH REFERS TO MISSING XERCES.JAR

APAR status

Error description

• Since we started shipping IBM JVM in WTX 8.1, xerces.jar is not
  shipped with the product. Since IBM JVM has its own
  implementation of xerces ( <WTX Install
  Directory>\java\lib\xml.jar), xerces.jar that we used to ship
  with earlier versions of the product conflicts. So, this has
  been stopped from shipping with WTX 8.1 or 8.2 versions (in
  future versions also).
  
  The references to xerces.jar should be removed from the customer
  exposed .bat and .sh files like this one.  It looks like besides
  RMI Server, DebugServer and Examples use xerces.jar references
  in the scripts.
  
  Customer workaround is to remove references to xerces.jar in the
  scripts.

Problem summary

• The references to xerces.jar in the scripts exposed to the
  customer have been removed. As xerces.jar is not shipped along
  with our product since 8.1 release, having references to
  xerces.jar in the CLASSPATH in various scripts confuses the
  customer.
  
  With 8.1 release, our product ships with IBM JRE and IBM JRE has
  its own implementation of xerces with a different file name,
  xml.jar. Having both implementations in the install conflicts
  and generates different output or unexpected results. xerces.jar
  is no longer shipped for this reason in the product installs.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed a problem with scripts where they reference removed
  component xerces.jar, which has not shipped along with our
  product since 8.1 release.
