Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Object Comparison Tool for * * z/OS who use the ALT function to redefine * * table spaces. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The problematic scenario involves a * * segmented table space with one or more * * LOB columns. The objects related to LOB * * columns are explicitly defined (i.e * * LOB table spaces, Auxiliary tables and * * auxiliary indexes) * * * * Using the ALT function, the segmented * * table space is being converted into a * * Partition By Range table space. * * * * This is causing a couple of issues: * * * * 1. DROP statements are missing for * * some of the explicit LOB table * * spaces. * * * * 2. "Validate" fails while processing * * the DROP statements. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The problematic scenario involves a segmented table space with one or more LOB columns. The objects related to LOB columns are explicitly defined (i.e LOB table spaces, Auxiliary tables and auxiliary indexes) Using the ALT function the segmented table space is being converted into a Partition By Range table space. This is causing a couple of issues: 1. DROP statements are missing for some of the explicit LOB table spaces. 2. "Validate" fails while processing the DROP statements. The following are the validate errors: ADB3001E Error processing Index <AUX index> in DROP statement: Object does not exist. ADB3004W Error processing Index <AUX index> in DROP statement: Object dropped many times. ADB3011E Error processing Table Space tablespace_name in CREATE statement: The table space is partitioned but partitioning index has not been found.
