Error description
The SMP/E APPLY for FMID HHAP700 IBM HTTP Server V7.0 powered by Apache can fail with RC12. Shell script HAPAE001 can fail to find the "jar" command if there is no DDDEF for SMPJHOME in the target zone. The sample job SHAPJCL(HAPDDDEF) should have a DDDEF for SMPJHOME which allows HAPAE001 to find and run the jar command. . SHELL SCRIPT HAPAE001 OUTPUT FOR HFS HAPAB001 SEQ NUM 000009 Starting /zos19/xxcu/usr/lpp/IHSA/V7R0/IBM//HAPAE001.sh script processing HAPAB001... cd /zos19/xxcu/usr/lpp/IHSA/V7R0/IBM//../server/ jar -xf /zos19/xxcu/usr/lpp/IHSA/V7R0/IBM//../HAPAB001.zip jar: /zos19/xxcu/usr/lpp/IHSA/V7R0/IBM/HAPAE001 73: FSUM7351 not found
Local fix
Add a DDDEF for SMPJHOME to the HAPDDDEF job similar to this: ADD DDDEF (SMPJHOME) PATH('/usr/lpp/java/J5.0/'). bin/jar should exist under this directory.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM HTTP Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Sample installation job HAPDDDEF does * * not have a DDDEF definition for * * SMPJHOME. This can result in SMP/E * * apply for IBM HTTP Server V7.0 failing * * with error RC12 - JAR COMMAND IS NOT * * FOUND. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** SMP/E installation and maintenance of this product requires access to the jar command. If SMP/E PTF UO00348 (APAR IO03469) is applied, then an SMPJHOME DD statement or DDDEF is used to locate the jar command, and must be present during SMP/E apply or restore processing for this product. The Program Directory provides sample JCL and UCLIN statements for SMPJHOME, but they were not included in sample job HAPDDDEF.
Problem conclusion
In order to simplify product installation and maintenance, the HAPDDDEF sample job has been updated to include an ADD DDDEF for SMPJHOME. The instructions in the job have been updated to instruct customers to uncomment this statement and customize it for their environment if they do not already have a DDDEF for SMPJHOME in the SMP/E target zone to be used for installing and maintaining this product. APAR PK77303 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.3 of IBM HTTP Server V7.0
