APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When creating a page and defined which portlets can be
added to the page, the Allow-all-portlets parameter for the
    page
is set to false. If a user personalizes the page, that derived
page also has the parameter set. If the admin then changes the
parent page to Allow-all-portlets to true. Any derived page
that had been created when the value was false will now not be
able to add any portlets to the page using the palette.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When creating a page and defined which portlets can be added to
the page, the Allow-all-portlets parameter for the page is set
to false. If a user personalizes the page, that derived page
also has the parameter set. If the admin then changes the parent
page to Allow-all-portlets to true. Any derived page that had
been created when the value was false will now not be able to
add any portlets to the page using the palette.

Problem conclusion

  • Set the allpoortletsallowed parameter independent of the
    derivation parent.
