PK70418: FUNTDB01 PRECEEDED BY AN ABEND IN A PORT TASK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If an IMS Connect PORT task abends and BPE abended the other
  PORT tasks, a loop in FUNTDB01 may occur. This is because BPE
  abended a PORT task while a latch was held by FUNTDB01. The
  Abend prevented the latch from being released by the task.
  This caused a CEX non-PORT task to loop trying to obtain the
  latch left by the abending PORT task.

  This APAR is correcting the following problems:
  1. Loop in FUNTDB01 if PORT task abends when multple ports
     are defined.
  2. Abend 0c4 may occur in CEXTECL1 during init trying to
     issue CEX internal trace.
  3. IMS Connect may abend 052 during initialization if the
     local port is present and publisher api is active.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1.  Correct emergency termination code to ensure that the
  TDB buffer lock can be freed for an abending port task.
  2.  Change module CEXTECL1 to use a proper control block
  address to determine if the CEX internal trace has
  been requested
  3.  Delay initialization of the Publisher API until the
  local port has completed initialzation.  This ensures
  the AXSET done by CEX is after the AXSET done by
  IMS Connect for the local port.
