Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of APPC/OTMA using the * * Queue Control Facility (QCF) tool * * V3R1 to unload or delete * * APPC or OTMA messages. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: APPC TIBs and OTMA YTIBs are not freed * * after QCF unloads transaction messages * * leaving APPC/OTMA client hung as * * viewed from IMS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install the APAR. * **************************************************************** The control blocks TIB and YTIB are not freed when QCF deletes transactions entered by APPC/OTMA clients.. This leaves the TIBs and YTIBs orphaned. QCF UNLOAD or DELETE will invoke a new IMS function to delete the IMS internal control blocks TIB for APPC transaction messages, and YTIB for OTMA transaction messages. This is to keep the control blocks from being orphaned until an IMS restart is performed. This function is invoked for IMS shared queues and non-shared queues systems, but not for a APPC/OTMA transaction queued in a remote multiple systems coupling (MSC) IMS. The new IMS function, added by PK67440 must be applied. See that APAR for details. IQCQMR5X was modified to call DFSCIO50 for APPC or OTMA transaction messages to determine if cleanup is needed. If it is needed, DFSCIO50 will enqueue an AWE to initiate the cleanup.
Problem conclusion
This is a FFIT for PK67507 (IMS 9.1 APAR)
