Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2  Admin & Object Comparison Tool *
    *                 who performs compare  between a DDL file and *
    *                 catalog  extract with  source DDL tablespace *
    *                 without CCSID attribute.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When source(DDL file) having tablespac  *
    *                      without  CCSID  attribute  is  compare  *
    *                      against  target DB2  catalog with  sam  *
    *                      tablespace having CCSID EBCDIC, result  *
    *                      change in encoding_scheme erro r in th  *
    *                      ompare report (E) Attempted  change  o  *
    *                      field ENCODING SCHEME is not supported  *
    *                      Change ignored.                         *
    *                                                              *
    *                      This is due to DTC not setting default  *
    *                      encoding  scheme  as EBCDIC ('E') when  *
    *                      CCSID attribute not specified in        *
    *                      tablespaces.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    Changes are done in DTC to  initialize default encoding scheme
    as 'E',irrespective of CCSID specified in tablespaces or not.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed in V7.2 only.
