Error description

  • This APAR address two problems:
    - DFS0435I NUMBER OF BUFFERS INVALID ON CARD 001
      Explanation:  The number of buffers is calculated using a
      fixed total size. If the buffer size is small, more than
      32767 buffers are calulated, causing the above message.
    - Abend 0C4 during reload when using HCMA with ONLINE(Y)
      Explanation:  The database has nonunique segments, which must
      be re-applied if changes occur.  An invalid parameter
      had been specified.

    1. DFS0435I NUMBER OF BUFFERS INVALID ON CARD 001
    The number of buffers is calculated using a fixed total size.
    If the buffer size is small, more than 32767 buffers are
    calculated, causing the above message.
    2. Abend 0C4 during reload when using HCMA with ONLINE(Y)
    The database has nonunique segments, which must be
    re-applied if changes occur.  An invalid parameter had
    been specified.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The following changes have been made:
    1. The buffer number is now restricted to 20000.
    2. The corresponding modules have been changed to adjust
    the parameter in question.
