Error description

  • UNABLE TO RESTART PWH (PERFORMANCE WAREHOUSE)

Start the PWH in some cases doesn't work and have to stop/start
the STC or to start the PWH in force mode. Both are not really
    helpfull in a productive environment.

    FYI.
The customer stopped and started the PWH, after stopping it an
2nd time, the next start of the PWH is looping:

    FPEV0071I COMMAND: F DB1M,PWH=Y
    FPEV5001I DB1M PWH IS STARTING
    FPEV5002I DB1M PWH IS STOPPING
    FPEV0071I COMMAND: F DB1M,PWH=Y
    FPEV5001I DB1M PWH IS STARTING
    FPEV5002I DB1M PWH IS STOPPING

and it is not possible to start PWH anymore. Restart of the
PESERVER STC or start of the PWH in force mode is needed.

Local fix

  • Stop/Start the STC or start the PWH in force mode.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When Performance Warehouse is repeatedly restarted using the
modify command with action PWH=N followed by the modify command
with action PWH=Y, the Performance Warehouse might stop
immediately after the processing of the start command completed
and can no longer be started using the modify command. In this
case the server log (SYSPRINT) will show message FPEV5001I
immedialtely followed by message FPEV5002I. The OMEGAMON Server
subtask PESERVER has to be restarted to recover from this
    situation.
When Performance Warehouse is repeatedly restarted, the status
of Performance Warehouse is not cleared completely upon start
up and erroneously interpreted as stop command.

    PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
When Performance Warehouse is restarted using the modify
commands to stop and start PWH, the Performance Warehouse starts
and remains up and running. The start up sequence for
Performance Warehouse has been corrected accordingly.

Problem conclusion

  • When Performance Warehouse is restarted using the modify
commands to stop and start PWH, the Performance Warehouse starts
and remains up and running. The start up sequence for
Performance Warehouse has been corrected accordingly.
