Error description

  • PE AGENT AND WS CLIENT SHARE A COMMON FILE BUT THESE NOW HAVE
DIFFERENT VERSIONS. IF CLIENT FILES ARE DOWNLOADED AFTER SMP/E
INSTALL OF PE AGENT THEN THE CLIENT INSTALL FAILS DUE TO JAVA
VERSION INCOMPATIBILITY.
The product bean "db2pecli_log_files-start" could not be loaded
because the following exception occurred:
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: ...

Local fix

  • LOCAL FIX IS TO UNINSTALL AGENT PTF IN SMP/E AND THEN DOWNLOAD
AND INSTALL WS CLIENT FILES AGAIN. THE PE AGENT INSTALLATION ON
THE WORKSTATION DOES NOT NEED TO BE UNDONE - ONLY THE SMP/E
INSTALL OF THE AGENT PTF.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The PE Agent has overwritten the PEClient dataset this
causes that the PEClient could not be installed anymore.

The PEClient can now be installed again without problems.
