Error description

  • Abend may occur in DB2 V9 when running DB2 Query Monitor
concurrently with Omegamon, with Omegamon Object Analysis
feature enabled. Active Application may abend with U3590.

    OTHER KEYWORD: 5655OPE00

Local fix

  • To turn off OM DB2 Object Analysis in Omegamon:

If all subsystems on the LPAR are DB2 V9 then all three steps
    below should be followed.

    1) In the RKD2PAR(U) library, allocated to the
RKANPAR DD, find the member with the same name
       as the started task.

    2) In this member find the line that reads EXEC EMGRsmfid
and comment out by placing an * in column 1.
This will prevent the event manager for that
LPAR (smfid) from starting. This is the underlying
       collector for Object Analysis.

    3) Find any lines that read EXEC smfiddb2id and
comment out by placing an * in column 1.
This will prevent the Object Analysis feature from
starting for the specific DB2 (db2id) on the particular
LPAR (smfid). (smfiddb2id is the concatenation of
the LPAR and DB2 subsystem ids)

Save the changes and start the OMEGAMON DB2.

If there is a mix of DB2 V7, V8 and V9 running on the LPAR
and you wish to have Object Analysis available for the
non-V9 subsystems, do not perform step 2. Only perform
    step 3 for the DB2 V9 subsystems.
    Test Query Monitor.

** Please be aware these changes are being made outside
of ICAT. If ICAT is reinvoked, it is possible that
these changes will be undone, unless appropriate
configuration changes are made in ICAT.
