Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool running in *
    * a JES3 environment that use ALTER RDEF to *
    *                 redefine a table space using DB2 TEMPLATEs.  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A failure occurs  in a JES3  nvironment *
    * because a data set is created *
    * dynamically during the unload step and *
    * referenced by a DD card in a subsequent *
    *                      load step.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    Admin initialization has been changed to get the default
    value of JES2 versus JES3 from TSO/E CLIST variable SYSJES.
    The default is no longer JES2.

    If a value is specified for ADBL CLIST Keyword JES or is
    specified by the installer in customization panel ADB2CUS1
    then it will override the value of SYSJES.

    If the value is not valid then JES2 is assumed and no error
    message is displayed.

    ALTER RDEF has been fixed to correctly process the value
    of JES2 or JES3 when generating the JCL for the load step.

    Documentation changes to "IBM DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS":

    Chapter 2 "Activating DB2 Admin", Step 5. "Prepare ADBL CLIST",
    description of CLIST parameter: JES:

    The JES environment name. The current environment is determined
    by TSO/E CLIST variable SYSJES, unless it has been specified by
    the installer during the Admin customization in the general
    parameters. To overrides this value, specify either JES(JES3) or
    JES(JES2). If JES is specified with an invalid value, then
    JES(JES2) is assumed and no error message is displayed. f JES(-)
    is specified then Admin will ignore any value specified by the
    installer during Admin customization and will use the value in
    TSO/E CLIST variable SYSJES.
