Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool panel ADB21KB 'Bind Package'
does not support mixed case version-id's so the COPYVER
field is folded to uppercase resulting in error message:
DSNT238I  #aaaa- BIND COPY ERROR
           USING aaaaaaa AUTHORITY
           PACKAGE = aaaa.aaaaaaa.aaaaaaa.(MIXED)
           DOES NOT EXIST
DSNT233I  #aaaa- UNSUCCESSFUL BIND FOR
           PACKAGE = aaaa.aaaaaaa_aaaa.aaaaaaa.(MIXED)

Local fix

  • Use PROMPT option to edit COPYVER field to correct case.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: Users  of DB2  Administration Tool that use  *
*                 the BC  (Bind Copy) line  command on  panel  *
*                 ADB21K (Packages) when the Version contains  *
*                 lower case characters.                       *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Administration Tool translates  *
*                      lower  case characters into upper case  *
*                      characters in the version field during  *
*                      Bind Copy processing.                   *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
The translation of lower case characters results in a version
that was not expected by the user.
