Error description

  • During PE Server startup locking conflicts might result from
concurrent access to resources from the PE Server tasks and
Performance Warehouse (PWH) resulting in timeout / deadlock
conditions. In this case the PWH startup would fail with SQL
-911 and cause table spaces to enter check pending state. The PE
Server code is modified to significantly reduce the likelyhood
    of concurrent access to resources.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
During PE Server startup locking conflicts could result from
concurrent access from the PE Server tasks and Performance
Warehouse (PWH) resulting in timeout/deadlock conditions.
In this case the PWH startup will fail with SQL -911 and table
spaces will enter check pending state. Consecutive start ups of
PWH while a table space is in check pending state will fail with
SQL -904. The PE Server / PWH will not be able to recover from
this state automatically. The check pending state must be
cleared manually before PWH is restarted.

    PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The PE Server code has been modified to reduce the chance to get
timeout/deadlock conditions while resources are accessed during
    Performance Warehouse startup.

Problem conclusion

  • The PE Server code has been modified to reduce the chance to get
timeout/deadlock conditions while resources are accessed during
    Performance Warehouse startup.
