APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool GOCC025E message identified the
  original object name rather than the new name duplicate name
  when the user attempted to RENAME a table via ALC and CM:
  GOCC025E - Duplicate record was detected for object aaa.aaa
  Run will terminate.
  GOCC002E - Severe error. Compare terminates
  where aaa.aaa is the original unique name rather than bbb.bbb
  the duplicated name.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The error message GOCC025E issued when  *
  *                      an  ALC RENAM E attempts  to rename to  *
  *                      existing object is misleading since it  *
  *                      names  the original unique name rather  *
  *                      than the new name duplicate name.       *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  GOC was changed to add an additional diagnostic message when
  renaming an existing object.
  When such situation occurs the following message will be added:
  GOCC025E - Duplicate record was detected for object  C1.T1
             Error probably caused by rename of object
             from C1.T1
             to C2.T2
             Run will terminate.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been fixed in Object Compare Ver 7.2.
