Error description

  • Program Restart should be changed to allow DLIBATCH jobs that
cannot update databases to REATTACH after certain abends

THE FOLLOWING TEXT DESCRIBES THE DOC CHANGE:

            Document Number: SC27-0910-01
IBM Program Restart Facility for IMS:
User's Guide and Reference Version 2 Release 1

For Chapter 3, the section titled "Specifying Inclusion
Options", the following parameters should be documented
           as follows:

           RDORETRY=YES

Specifying the above option will allow a batch DLI job
    that
cannot update IMS full-function databases that abends
    with one
of the user-specified abend codes specified by a GBL
    ABRCC
Snnn/Unnnn control statement in the inclusion options
    data set
for a user-specified delay period and then resumed (via
    IMS
extended restart) without the job step ever actually
           terminating abnormally.

If this option is specified, Program Restart will also
    take
           the following actions:

Change the DBRC option to DBRC=N. (The DFSIDEF0
module if present cannot have DBRC=FORCE coded, nor

can DBRC=FORCE be coded for the IMSCTRL macro for
IMS versions before IMS version 9.)

Insure that no logging is in effect by unallocating
any log data sets that may be allocated for the
           //IEFRDER and //IEFRDER2 DD statements.

           Note: The following conditions apply:

REATTACH=YES must also be specified with RDORETRY=YES

The //IMS DD statement must be present, with the named
PSB present in the library specified or one of the
             libraries listed in the concatenation.

For Appendix B, Messages, the following messages should
    be
           documented as follows:

IRT071I REATTACH SCHEDULED FOR JOB aaaaaaaa PSB bbbbbbbb
    iiii

Explanation: Job 'aaaaaaaa' using psb 'bbbbbbbb' has
    abended
on IMS subsystem 'iiii' and instead of the job step being
terminated, the job will be allowed to restart.

System Action: The job will wait for a user-specified
    delay
interval, or if the job was held via a 'F aaaaaaaa,HOLD'
command, the job will wait until a 'F aaaaaaaa,XRST'
    command
           has been issued.

User Response: No action is required, the message is
           informational only.

IRT071W REATTACH WAITING FOR MVS CMD: F aaaaaaaa,XRST

Explanation: Job 'aaaaaaaa' using psb 'bbbbbbbb' has
    abended
on IMS subsystem 'iiii' and instead of the job step being
terminated, the job will be allowed to restart.

System Action: The job will wait for the user to issue
    the
           MVS command 'F aaaaaaaa,XRST'.

User Response: The user should either issue the indicated
MVS command or issue an MVS CANCEL command.

Local fix
