APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• we are currently installing and testing IBM TIVOLI OMEGAMON XE
  for DB2
  Performance Monitor V310. We found a problem when running the
  Explain
  function in batch :
  FPEY0002W  CALL ATTACH FUNCTION OPEN THREAD FAILED.
             RETURN CODE 12, REASON CODE 00F30040
  I added a //dsntrace dd * to the job and found that the explain
  was
  trying to connect to plan DGOPMEX instead of the plan KO2EXPL
  which was bound during the installation of the explain function
  . To
  bypass the problem I added a new plan BIND PLAN (DGOPMEX) PKLIST
  (KO2EX310.*) .... and the problem was solved.
  So for some reason program FPECMAIN is trying to use plan
  DGOPMEX
  instead of KO2EXPL . I think DGOPMEX is and old name used by an
  earlier
  version of DB2PM. I will upload the failing explain job and the
  installation jcl for plan KO2EXPL .
  

Local fix

• As a circumvention please ask user to do the following:
  specifiying
    //SYSIN    DD *
      GLOBAL   PLANEX(KO2EXPL)
  in his EXPLAIN batch job.

Problem conclusion

• The default plan name for EXPLAIN now is KO2EXPL.
