Error description

  • When customer changes target tablespace with 56 partitions to
    50 partitions and uses parallel unload in the GOC panel GOC5
    the Object Compare job runs and completes rc=0 but when the
    WSL runs it fails with rc=08 and
      DSNU256I  #DSN8- DSNURWI - INVALID PARTITION SPECIFICATION
    Load shows it is trying to load the higher number of partitions
    specified in the target instead of the lower number of
    partitions of the new target object.

    * the Object Compare job ran and got RC=0 *
    * but, when the WSL ran it failed with RC *
    *                      being 08 and DSNU256I #DSN8 - DSNURWI - *
    *                      INVALID PARTITION SPECIFICATION.        *

    * TEMPLATEs were used with &PART included *
    * in the data set name, which causes DB2 *

    * data set. This also means that the LOAD *
    * control cards include clauses for each *
    * partition and thus the failure during *
    *                      LOAD when a reference to a non-existent *
    *                      partition is attempted.                 *
    *                      .*                                      *
    * The "parallel" option shouldn't be used *
    *                      for   DB2  UNLOAD   when  a  number  of *
    * partitions is reduced; hence DB2 unload *
    * all partitions to the same file. *
