  • ABEND0C4 in DFSBCB00 x'072E' during an IMS shutdown after an
    unsuccessful REINIT in IMSSM.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMSSM                           *
    *                 Restart IMS control region after installing  *
    *                 this APAR.                                   *
    *                 If IMS control region is not restarted       *
    *                 and a REINIT of IMSSM is done using wrong    *
    *                 parameters,a 0C4 will occure on shutdown.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An 0C4 occures during IMS SHUTDOWN      *
    *                      after an unsuccessful reinit.           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If the REINIT of IMSSM is not successful,some control blocks
    are not created. On shutdown the IMSSM termination routine
    tries to release the blocks, without checking if they exist or
    not.
    

Problem conclusion

  • IMSSM termination routine has been changed to verify all
    blocks before issuing release requests.
