* USERS AFFECTED: IMS Index Builder V2R3 users implementing    *
*                 IMS OLR.                                     *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Customer reported that the fix proposed *
*                      in PK11329/UK09881 does not take        *
*                      effect.                                 *
*                      IB V2R3 was assumed to reduce the OLR   *
*                      number for the secondary index entries  *
*                      related to an active OLR input data set *
*                      in OLR split.                           *

In fact, this action was requested by another customer who
didn't report DB processing failures. Renewed testing showed
that the reorg number was not reduced due to double base
addressing. However, no DB processing failure was observed when
using the secondary index. According to IMS, this is due to IMS
OLR error which is not yet fixed.

Problem conclusion

  • The error was fixed, the secondary index was checked for reduced
reorg number after the split. Build primary for PHIDAM was
issuing "invalid segment code" error, and was fixed. However,
there seems to be no need to rebuild the primary index for the
split.
