APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer gets an allocation error when allocating the TODS
dataset in the IDLICOPY because the hlq.ISPF.PROFILE is a PDSE
    dataset.
This means the sysadirblk = NO_LIM and is invalid on the
TSO ALLOC command where DIR has to be an integer.
The TSO ALLOC is done with a LIKE('MODEL-DATASET-NAME') which
means the attributes of the MODEL-DATASET are to be used to
    allocate a new dataset.
This error occurs running the Utility Exception Report.

    ****************************************************************
    1. AN ALLOC/COPY ERROR IS ISSUED FOR DATASET HLQ.TEMP.ISPPROF
FOR BATCH RECON AND COLLECT JOBS IF THE ORIGINAL ISPPROF IS A
    PDSE DATA SET.
THE ALLOCATE COMMAND INCLUDES AN INVALID DIR(NO_LIM) FOR PDSE.
THE DIR OPTION MUST BE NUMERIC.
    2. THERE IS A MISPLACED ENDSEL STATEMENT IN IPR/IC SKELETON,
IDLICEC8, THAT CAUSES NESTED SELECT STATEMENTS TO EXCEED THE
THE LIMIT. THE ERROR MAY ALSO APPEAR AS AN EMPTY ICEIN STATEMENT
    FOR IPR INTERNAL IMAGE COPIES.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. REXX EXEC IDLICOPY HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO ALLOW ALLOCATION OF
    PDSE PROFILE DATA SETS.
    2. SKELETON IDLICEC8 FOR PARALLEL REORG WITH IMAGE COPY JOBS
    HAS BEEN CORRECTED.
