Comments
Online Data Extract has been enhanced to support to extract SDEP segments by DBT Unload/Reload format. This function is effective when OUTPUT=DBT and SDEPHIER=YES are specified in FPXCTL control statement. The format of extracted SDEP record is the same as unloaded SDEP record as SDEP=LOGICAL, by unload funcion of High Performance Fast Path Reorganization Tool or Fast Path Basic tools. SDEP segments are extracted by OUTPUT=DBT only when SDEPHIER=YES is specified, so if you want extracted records with SDEPs as input for reload of High Performance Fast Path Reorganization Tool, you must specify OUTPUT=DBT,SDEPHIER=YES,SORT=YES in FPXCTL DD and specify ODESORT DD in JCL to extract, then sort the extracted record using SORT control statement created in ODESORT DD. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== The IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities for z/OS User's Guide Volume 3: Fast Path Online Tools Version 2 Release 2 (SC18-9239-01) should be changed as follows: (Revision bar shows the part of change) Part 2. Online Data Extract Chapter 4. Introduction Highlights *The 5th item should be changed as follows, | - Lets you extract SDEP segments for standard format or DBT | Unload/Reload format. *The 8th item should be changed as follows, - Provides an option to write output data in multiple formats | compatible with the Unload/Reload formats. Subsection: Utility Control Statements Subsection: FPXCTL Statement Subsection: OUTPUT Keyword *Restrictions of OUTPUT keyword should be changed as follows, Restrictions: | - A specification of TFMT or UR is mutually exclusive with SORT=YES. | - SDEP segments are extracted when OUTPUT=STD, SORT=NO and | SDEPHIER=NO are specified, or when OUTPUT=STD(DBT), and | SDEPHIER=YES are specified. Subsection: Utility Control Statements Subsection: FPXCTL Statement Subsection: SDEPHIER Keyword *Restrictions of SDEPHIER keyword should be changed as follows, Restrictions: The SDEPHIER keyword is effective only when all of the following conditions are satisfied: | 1. OUTPUT=STD or OUTPUT=DBT 2. SORT=NO, or SORT=YES and ODESORT DD statement is specified in JCL 3. SDEP is defined in the DBD definition Appendix D. Messages and codes Messages *The FPX0076W and FPX0107E message descriptions should be changed as follows, FPX0076W Extraction of SDEP segments suppressed: Output is in UNLOAD/RELOAD format. Explanation: Output was requested in unload/reload format via | the OUTPUT=DBT, OUTPUT=TFMT or OUTPUT=UR control statements. SDEP segments are not included in the output file when unload/reload format has been selected. System action: Processing continues. | User response: If OUTPUT=DBT is specified, you can extract | SDEP segments by specifying SDEPHIER=YES keyword. Issuing Module: FPXPARM1 FPX0107E SDEPHIER keyword is specified with mutually exclusive keyword value or against no SDEP defined DB. Explanation: The SDEPHIER keyword is specified with one of the following specifications: | - OUTPUT=TFMT|UR (this keyword and SDEPHIER are mutually exclusive) - SORT=YES, and ODESORT DD statement is not specified in JCL - A database that has no SDEP defined in the DBD definition System Action: Processing terminates with a return code of 12. User Response: SDEPHIER keyword cannot be specified when any one of the above three conditions is met. Correct the incompatible specification, and resubmit the job. Issuing Module: FPXPARM1
