  • ABENDS0C2 occurs when one or more libraries in STEPLIB DD is
not APF authorized.  We will change the abend to ABENDS047.

*                      when the step library concatenation is  *
*                      not APF authorised. S0Cx program        *
*                      exceptions tend to be inerpreted as     *
*                      software failures.                      *

In order to create SAS for sort, IMS Index Builder V2R3 must go
to supervisor mode, hence the system authorization flag must be
on. However, when called internally by IPR, the flag is already
off. So IB didn't rely on this flag tested, and executed
privileged instructions.

Problem conclusion

  • More precise authorization flag test has been elaborated,
informational, and warning messages IIUB100I, and IIUB100W are
issued in case it is off before the mode is set to supervisor
state. S047 abend is issued when MODESET fails.
