APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Run a recovery for a hdam DB NK01. The IC is compressed with
    FABJCMP3. DRF ends RC=08, message
FRD4284E DATA SET RESTORE I/O ERROR,
NK01, NK01XXD3: IC DECOMPRESS OPERATION FAILED.

The DRF recovery job is running for a while. So the error occurs
    after 100k io's.

Local fix

  • When HPIC is used and the same IC dataset to recover the DB all
    works fine.

Recovery terminates when it incorrectly processes free space
elements (FSE) read from image copies generated by the HPIC
    FABJCMP3 routine.

Problem conclusion

  • AIDS: RIDS/UTIL RIDS/DBS DBS/UTIL
      DEP: NONE
      GEN:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
FRXIGIR is changed to check for FSEs at the beginning of the
IC block before decompressing the compressed data area. If a
FSE exists before the compressed data area it should be applied
    first.

FRXIIOM0, FRXIOCN0, and FRXIVCN0 are recompiled to pick up
    changes made to FRXIGIR.
