Error description
Running the WASPreUpgrade command on the node profiles returns the message: MIGR0573W: The library was not copied because it was not found at the following path: ${MIGRATED_UNIX_MACHINECHANGE_ROOT}/apps/xxx/shared-lib/yyy-part y-lib/zzz-collections.jar.
Local fix
Manualy change MIGRATED_UNIX_MACHINECHANGE_ROOT - Keywords: migration WASpreupgrade WAspostupgrade sharedlibrary shared library variables.xml
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Configuration Migration Tools * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Remote WASPreUpgrade emits the message * * MIGR0573W with a path containing * * MIGRATED_UNIX_MACHINECHANGE_ROOT * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The problem occurs when the user is performing a migration of a cell to a new system, and the cell contains a shared library with a path outside of the install. After migrating the deployment manager, a variable is created at the cell level named MIGRATED_UNIX_MACHINECHANGE_ROOT which is set to "machineChange_root" and which is synchronized to the federated nodes in the mixed cell environment. The path to the shared library in libraries.xml is also changed to include this variable. Then, when WASPreUpgrade is run on a federated node to collect its backup for migration, the value of machineChange_root is substituted in to the path to the library. But since this is on a machine that has not had migration performed, the library does not exist at that path, so the message is emitted and the library is not collected.
Problem conclusion
Migration was updated to leave the value for the MIGRATED_UNIX_MACHINECHANGE_ROOT variable blank at the cell level and override only in the node being migrated. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.15 and 9.0.0.9.
