**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: 01.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 02.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 03.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 04.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 05.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 06.RDz users who access the CA Endevor * * repository using the IBM supplied RDz * * Endevor RAM. * * 07.All RDz users * * 08.All RDz users * * 09.All RDz users using RDz 9.1.1.6 host * * 10.All Integrated Debugger users that * * utilize the LE user exit. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.Re-associating an MVS sub-project * * with CARMA repository, does not * * re-associate its elements. Also, * * When an element is extracted to a * * dataset in an MVS sub-project, if a * * CA Endevor Element MOVE is * * performed for the element, the PDS * * member in the MVS sub-project no * * longer has an association with the * * previous element location. This * * causes errors when trying to * * further update the element from the * * RDz/IDz workbench to the CA Endevor * * repository. * * 02.Using the refresh key multiple * * times on the CARMA Endevor Search * * results in an error dialog being * * shown stating that the request has * * failed. * * 03.In Rational Developer for z Systems * * (RDz) v9.5.1.4, in a z/OS project * * that is associated with a CARMA * * repository, some members lose their * * association with the CARMA * * repository after restarting RDz. * * 04.There were several Endevor API * * errors issued while retrieving * * number of dependencies from element * * component list. This causes * * dependency list processing to fail * * leading to return code 4038. * * 05.When performing a "View Cast * * Report" action (LIST PACKAGE CAST * * REPORT), CARMA is not properly * * handling blank spaces within * * package ID name. * * 06.When in the CARMA orpositories and * * Search Results view, if multiple * * element are selected, and a custom * * action is performed on the selected * * elements, only the fist element is * * processed by the action. * * 07.Users cannot establish a secure * * connection to RDz 9.1.1.5 host due * * to training blanks in * * ssl.properties file * * 08.RDz 9.1.1.6 dataset allocation * * attempted on incorrect volume after * * volume relabel * * 09.A filter without a wild card for a * * specific data set name can not show * * the data set if it is either alias, * * VSAM, GDS or GDG * * 10.This update matches the fix for IBM * * Debug Tool APAR PI81873. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 01.Re-associating an MVS sub-project with CARMA repository causes the PDS member in the MVS sub-project to lose its reference to the CA Endevor element on the host. 02.When invoking the search request, if the storage area used for the response is not initialized, this may cause errors when processing the request. The subsequent requests may fail as a result. 03.When the repository association is changed at the subproject level, the child processes also lose the association. In some cases, this may happen when the member got moved in the repository. 04.When invoking the search request, if the storage area used for the response is not initialized, this may cause errors when processing the request. The subsequent requests may fail as a result. 05.When processing the search request, if the package name has embedded blanks, the name is truncated to first part of the name up to the first space. This causes the package not to be located. 06.When selecting multiple elements, only the first element is processed for custom actions. 07.In Rational Developer for System z (RDz) 9.1.1.5 host, attempting to establish a secure connection to a remote host will result in RSEG1056 error due to training blanks in ssl.properties file. Work around: Edit ssl.properties file in USS on the host, remove all trailing blanks, save the file and recycle RSE daemon. 08.When using RDz 9.1.1.6 server to access a dataset residing on a volume that was relabeled after the dataset was created, the action can trigger a mount request for a volume with the old label, and hang the client waiting for the mount to complete. 09.A filter without a wild card for a specific data set name can not show the data set if it is either alias, VSAM, GDS or GDG 10.This update matches the fix for IBM Debug Tool APAR PI81873.
Problem conclusion
01.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to re-associate the PDS member when an association change is detected between the CA Endevor element and the PDS member in the MVS sub-project. 02.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to initialize the response area prior to each request. 03.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to allow the elements to re-associate with the repository. 04.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to initialize the response area prior to each request. 05.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to properly handle package names with embedded blanks. 06.The IBM IDz Endevor integration has been changed to properly handle multiple element selections for custom actions. 07.RDz server is updated to fix the issue. 08.RDz server is updated to fix the issue. 09.RDz host is updated to handle alias, VSAM, GDS or GDG data sets on processing filters. 10.This update matches the fix for IBM Debug Tool APAR PI81873.
