Error description

  • An EXCI job using channels and containers failed with
DFHEX0001 An abend (code ---/4039) has occurred in module
    DFHXFQ.
An error occurred at program DFHXCPRX UI48954 offset +000E46.
The Link Request has failed. Return codes are:
    00000088 00000623
    .
The problem is in the transformer module DFHXFQ which includes
DFHXFPC.MACRO which generates code which works in either the
Batch (EXCI) or Online (CICS) Online environment.
The transformer uses a DSECT which maps Batch and Online data
areas. DFHXFQ, in Batch, is incorrectly picking up a field whch
is only valid in the Online environment, and the mapping of
data areas means that a pointer is being used incorrectly.

CICS Transaction Server 5.4 provides Channel and Container
    support to EXCI applications.
The CICS Transformer, working in the client (batch) environment,
incorrectly uses a pointer which is only applicable in the
    server (online) environment.
This can result in an 0C4 program check if the pointer contains
the address of invalid storage, or can result in application
data being corrupted (a fullword is incremented.) Unpredictable
    results may occur.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHXFPC.MACRO has been changed to generate the correct code
    for the batch environment.
