PI97030: HPSG0334I UNABLE TO OBTAIN EXCLUSIVE AUTHORIZATION FOR DATABASE DFS0565I /DBR COMMAND NOT PROCESSED DB=XXXXXX IN USE BY PSB=XXXX

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Currently, when TOSITEST=(max,interval) is specified, TOSI
  DBRTEST command is issued repeatedly until no IMS dependent
  region is accessing database before IMS /DBD or /DBR command.
  
  However, it doesn't avoid the DFS0565I error completely. In case
  a BMP region starts slightly between DBRTEST and /DBR command,
  /DBR command fails.
  DFS0565I /DBR COMMAND NOT PROCESSED DB=xxxxxx IN USE BY
  PSB=xxxxxxxx
  
  After DFS0556I is issued by IMS, Reorg Expert issues these
  messages:
  HPSG2104I IMS COMMAND /DBR FAILED: DATABASE=GC2ACM8
  HPSG0334I UNABLE TO OBTAIN EXCLUSIVE AUTHORIZATION FOR DATABASE
  xxxxxx ; USED BY xxxx
  
  This APAR enables TOSITEST control statement to retry /DBD or
  /DBR command after DFS0565I.

  This APAR enables Reorganization Manager to issue /DBD or
  /DBR command repeatedly till the commands are processed,
  following the TOSITEST=(max,interval) control statements.

    When IMSCMD=YES,TOSI is specified, before issuing IMS
    commands (/DBD or /DBR), Reorganization Manager verifies
  | whether the database is being used by any BMPs.
  
    TOSITEST control statement specifies the maximum number
    of attempts and the interval time for this verification.
    Use this control statement if you want Reorganization Manager
  | to wait for a certain amount of time for BMPs to end.
