    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using bundles which contain EP *
    * parts it is possible to suffer a *
    * severe error x'3661' in module DFHECRL. *
    ****************************************************************
The problem can occur should the bundle in use by the CICS
region be re-exported to zfs at the same location and the CICS
    region is restarted.
During the restart CICS finds bundles to recover but this fails
the consistency checking so CICS does not recover the bundle
parts. No BUNRLRS records are removed from the GCD.
The bundle is then discarded, this discard should have driven
RLPK DISCARD_RESOURCE to delete the GCD records for the bundle
parts. However as the recovery did not actually recover the
bundle parts this does not happen. The result after the discard
is that the GCD still contains the BUNRLRS record.
The bundle is re-installed adding another BUNRLRS record to the
    GCD.
When CICS is again restarted it reads the GCD and recovers the
2 BUNRLRS records even though both are for the same resource.
The bundle is left in an enabling state.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed to ensure should the recover of the
catalog records fail consistency checking the catalog record is
    deleted.
