Error description

  • Your CICS region starts up and during connection to CPSM, it
experiences an S0C7 ASRA in CPSM method XMSM. You will see
messages in the job output which may contain the following:
    .
DFHAP0001 applid An abend (code 0C7/AKEA) has occurred
at offset X'FFFFFFFF' in module EYU9XLEV.
    .
EYUXL0905E applid ASRA IN XMSM, OFFSET 00000540
    .
      Methods=XMSM,CLIN,CIIN,XLBV,XLEV
    .
    .
CPSM will request an SVC dump. In that dump the data at the
location pointed to by R14 (as reported in the EYUXL0907I
messages) will not point to a valid packed decimal number.
    .
    .
    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVSVR

Local fix

  • Add TRAP(CLIN,12) to the EYUPARMs in the region. Note, this
should only be used as an emergency fix if the region can not
    startup.

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled *

    ****************************************************************
As part of APAR PI81967 code changes, method EYU0CLIN (CLIN -
Protocol Services Initial Method Receiver) was updated to add
CICS TaskID for messages EYUCL0102E and EYUCL0103E. However, in
some cases, the TaskID may not be set properly.

As a result of that, when CLIN calls method EYU0XMSM (XMSM -
CICS TS Message Construction Services) to issue the message,
the TaskID that XMSM references might be all zeros, which is not
in the right data format as expected. An S0C7 abend occurs in
XMSM when it tries to copy the TaskID to a local variable.

Problem conclusion

  • Method EYU0CLIN has been updated to set the TaskID properly.
