Error description

• When IGZXAPI is invoked to help process an exception, IGZXAPI
  itself suffers an exception. The original exception was caused
  by user data overlay of COBOL control blocks.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND 0C4 when IGZXAPI is navigating    *
  *                      the COBOL Runtime's control blocks,     *
  *                      when some previous memory access has    *
  *                      corrupted the control blocks.           *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  IGZXAPI needs to negative the COBOL Runtime's control blocks to
  collect the requested file and runtime information being
  queried.  If the needed control blocks are corrupted, it may
  lead to ABEND 0C4 inside IGZXAPI.
  

Problem conclusion

• IGZXAPI routine will check the COBOL Runtime's control blocks
  to ensure it's in a correct state before using the information
  in it to locate the file and runtime information.  When the
  check fail, a negative return code is returned, instead of an
  ABEND.
