Error description

• In COBOL program that uses an EVALUATE statement, a large temp
  storage field is not being reused. This results in several
  large temp storage fields being allocated, generating a storage
  constraint.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Excessive stack space is used by the    *
  *                      program at runtime compared to the      *
  *                      same program compiled with a pre-V5     *
  *                      version of the compiler.  This can      *
  *                      sometimes result in an abend,           *
  *                      especially if the STACK(...,BELOW,...)  *
  *                      LE runtime option is in effect.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  The compiler was failing to reuse temporary storage areas used
  during EVALUATE statement processing, even when it was possible
  to do so.
