Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM HTTP Server with mod_ldap and * * virtual hosts. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Requests may hang, and the server may * * exhibit high CPU, when mod_ldap is * * used * * with virtual hosts. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply a fixpack containing this fix if * * using * * the affected configuration. * **************************************************************** mod_ldap might be found to be looping with apr_rmm_calloc() in the stack. The cause is that a data structure meant to be protected by a cross-process, cross-thread lock was accessed un-protected due to an error in how the lock was stored.
Problem conclusion
The code was updated to ensure that the same lock is used by all requests accessing the cache.
