Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS Admin Tool V1R1 who have    *
    *                 IMS instances with Catalog-managed ACBs, or  *
    *                 wish to convert to Catalog-managed ACBs.     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: There is no way to use IMS Admin Tool   *
    *                      to do an initial load of both the IMS   *
    *                      Catalog and directory data sets.        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF for this APAR.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    When using the IMS Admin Tool's Catalog and ACB Library
    Management function, an attempt to do an initial load of the
    Catalog and directory by specifying 'Y' for the Initial Load
    option will fail. While the import job will be generated, the
    import job itself will fail with message ATY3610E when the IMS
    instance in question is down, and with abend U1002 when the IMS
    instance is up, when using Catalog-managed ACBs. On the other
    hand, when using ACBLIBs, only the catalog is loaded; the
    directory is never created.
    

Problem conclusion

  • IMS Admin Tool has been changed so that it can perform an
    initial load of the Catalog and directory under the following
    circumstances:
    1). The DFSDF member for the IMS instance specifies
    ACBMGMT=CATALOG and the IMS instance is down.
    1). The DFSDF member for the IMS instance specifies
    ACBMGMT=ACBLIB and the IMS instance is down, or the IMS instance
    is up with the Catalog database and index /DBR'd.
