PI89177: ABENDU4000 IN BMP'S AND PRF PANELS AFTER ADDING A NEW PRF ENTRY

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Conditions leading up to the failure which can break #IRTJOB
  while adding the job option entry:
  1. Select '6. Job Options' on PRF main menu.
  2. Enter 'I - Insert' command.
  3. Fill out new job selection criteria, then enter (Ctrl key) to
     save it.
  4. (Update Job Override Options Panel is displayed). Enter
     CANCEL command - or PF key associated with CANCEL.
  5. (Back to Job Options panel). Enter 'I - Insert' command.
  6. Fill out new job selection criteria, then enter (Ctrl key) to
     save it.
  7. (Update Job Override Options Panel is displayed). Enter PF3
     to save the option.
  
  This can then lead to the BMP job's and panels getting an ABEND
  U4000.
  

Local fix

• A reload of IRT#JOB looks to clear the issue.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Program Restart Facility V2R2 users.         *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS BMP and DLI batch jobs can cause    *
  *                      ABENDU4000 with the following message   *
  *                      after adding the job override options   *
  *                      via PRF ISPF interface:                 *
  *                        IRT282E MODULE IRT#JOB IS INVALID     *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF that corrects this APAR.       *
  ****************************************************************
  The job override options can be updated via option 6 (Update Job
  Override Options) on the PRF ISPF main menu.
  If a request to add a new job override options is issued via PRF
  ISPF dialog, an index record and a data record are added to
  IRT#JOB module in the PRF option data set (IRTOPT data set).
  However, if CANCEL command is issued while adding a job override
  options via PRF ISPF dialog, an improper data record can be
  added. In this case, IMS BMP and DLI batch jobs with the IRTOPT
  dataset can cause ABENDU4000 with the following error message:
    IRT282E MODULE IRT#JOB IS INVALID (INVALID JOB HDR)
  

Problem conclusion

• IRTZOPJE has been changed not to add an improper data record to
  the IRTOPT data set when CANCEL command is issued while adding a
  job override options via PRF ISPF dialog.

     Long message: Invalid IJE entry was created in the internal
     block for some reason. Your request has been canceled. Try it
