APAR status

Error description

  • In Z/OS Explorer 3.0.1 / RDz 9.5.1, the client may freeze when
    pressing Ctrl-Space to open content assist menu.
    
    This happens using COBOL Editor and zSystem LPEX Editor.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When editing certain COBOL source files and using content assist
    it's possible to cause a client hang.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Content assist gets into infinite recursion while processing a
    linked list of syntax elements because it contains a loop.
