Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHSJ0212 TERMINATION_TIMED_OUT during  *
    *                      JVMSERVER PHASEOUT.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    During the initialisation of a JVM server the Shutdown Listener
    initialises and sets sj_shutdown_listener_active to '1'b.
    Asynchronously complete_jvmserver in DFHSJJS executes which
    initialises sj_shutdown_listener_active to '0'b.
    As a consequence for the life time of the JVM server the flag
    remains '0'b and at phase out of the JVM server the listener is
    not posted causing a protection exception in
    Java_com_ibm_cics_server_internal_ShutdownResponder_waitForECB
    and a DFHSJ0212 message to be issued with reason
    TERMINATATION_TIMED_OUT.

    This APAR also fixes an issue where purging a task running in a
    Liberty JVM server may cause an 0C4 in DFHSJIN's recovery
    routine, sjinrec, as the DS task does not have a TCA. This
    exception prevents the JVM server from shutting down.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSJJS has been modified to not set sj_shutdown_listener_active
    to '0'b in complete_jvmserver.

    DFHSJIN has been modified to only clear eisjvmxc if the task has
    a TCA.
