Error description

Multiple JAX-RS resource calls result in a memory leak.

Investigation of this issue show the leak is caused by
re-written code in
org.apache.cxf.transport.http.osgi.HTTPTransportActivator.

When Liberty JAX-WS Web service was invoked multiple times,
memory leak was detected after a few days in the
org.apache.cxf.transport.http.osgi.HTTPTransportActivator$PidInf
o class.  After about 10 days of running there were 448,225
instances of this PidInfo class using 84 MB of memory

Problem conclusion

The memory leak occurred because the memory allocated for the
org.apache.cxf.transport.http.osgi.HTTPTransportActivator$PidInf
o class was not cleaned up properly. This problem was resolved
by freeing the memory for the instances of PidInfo class that
were not used anymore.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 17.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for

Temporary fix

There is no work around for this problem.
